The DNA Learning Center Nigeria (DNALC Nigeria) is inviting scientists, conservationists, students, and nature enthusiasts to the 2025 DNA Barcoding & Bioconservation Workshop, taking place from December 3rd to 5th, 2025, at the Advanced Molecular Biology Laboratory, Godfrey Okoye University, Ugwuomu-Nike, Enugu.
This 3-day hands-on training is designed to equip participants with cutting-edge molecular biology tools and bioinformatics techniques for identifying species and preserving biodiversity. Participants will gain practical experience in:
✔ DNA Extraction from plant, ant, and animal samples
✔ PCR Amplification & Sequencing for species identification
✔ Bioinformatics for DNA Barcoding
✔ Applications in Conservation Biology
With biodiversity loss threatening ecosystems globally, DNA barcoding is fast becoming an essential tool for monitoring, documenting, and conserving life on Earth. This workshop offers participants the opportunity to explore how science can be applied to protect our planet’s natural heritage.
Fee: ₦240,000 or $150 (USD)
